PAINTING A SELF PORTRAIT

Award-winning B.C. watercolour portrait artist, Lorraine Simonds, will provide a demo on painting a self-portrait. Known for capturing a spectrum of emotions and feeling with her watercolour portraits, Lorraine will provide a brief summary of things to consider when painting a self-portrait including composition and mindset. She will then demonstrate her painting technique using a prepared drawing of her image. WGA members will be provided with a copy of her drawing in advance should they wish to paint along with her. Alternatively, if you wish to paint your own self-portrait, it is advised to take a photo of yourself and, in the interest of time, to draw it out prior to the zoom demo.
