Born in Belgium but raised in London, England, Louis immigrated to Canada in 1976. As a youth, his interest in drawing and painting was developed by a private art tutor. As an adult, Louis continued to sketch while pursuing a career in marketing in both Europe and Canada.
In 1997, he chose to work full-time as a visual artist. Initially inspired by nature and the magnificence of Canadian scenery, he has a passion for detail and an acute sense of composition that is reflected in his architectural renderings, still-life and landscape paintings. His works using acrylics, watercolours and graphite tend to leap off the canvas in a vibrant realistic style.
Louis is an active member of art communities in Willowdale (Toronto), the Collingwood/Blue Mountain area and Huntsville. He accepts commissions. His works are in private collections internationally, and are shown in galleries, solo and group exhibitions.
